Brand Founding Story

The "Chengchuang" dedicated to inheriting Chinese weaving and embroidery skills and reopening the application boundaries of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary lifestyles.

01. Brand Story

Founded in September 2017, Chengchuang is a cultural company dedicated to inheriting Chinese weaving and embroidery techniques, deconstructing and carrying forward traditional culture, and reshaping living scenes and everyday aesthetics through textile craft.

01. Brand Story

Since its inception, "Chengchuang" has been promoting the concept of "Embracing Talent, Pioneering Innovation". Based on inheriting the traditional Chinese silk weaving culture, it continuously innovates and develops, integrating it into contemporary life and combining it with modern consumption. We are committed to enabling everyone to enjoy the beautiful woven and embroidered products from China, reshaping the reputation of China as a major silk country. "Let everyone feel the charm of weaving in their daily lives, and let the world appreciate the beauty of craftsmanship" is the vision of Chengchuang.

01. Brand Story

Chengchuang has built an integrated platform that allows weaving and embroidery artisans to focus on craftsmanship. It fully draws on the advantages of national and provincial intangible heritage projects such as Nanjing Yunjin in historical context, technical skill, professional talent, design creativity, and cross-disciplinary integration. From Nanjing Yunjin and other intangible heritage products onward, strict standard quality inspection ensures that every product meets national or industry standards and remains reliable and durable.

02. Founder Story

Wu Ying is the principal of Chengchuang Textile Art, a new-generation inheritor of Nanjing Yunjin intangible heritage, an indoor disciple of national-level inheritors Zhou Shuangxi and Guo Jun, and holds a Master of Business Administration from Nanjing Normal University. After graduating in business in 2009, she entered the Nanjing Yunjin Research Institute and has worked deeply in Yunjin brand operation and cultural promotion.

02. Founder Story

In 2013, the experience of bringing Yunjin to Paris Haute Couture Week strengthened her commitment to inheritance through innovation. Facing the difficulties of traditional craft development, she was not deterred by doubt and continued to explore new paths rooted in the essence of Yunjin. She actively embraces new media and cross-disciplinary collaboration, bringing ancient craft into public view. At the same time, she expands Yunjin’s application scenarios across fabric research and development, art installations, cultural and creative products, and home objects. She has also built an experimental textile laboratory, using modern technology to empower traditional weaving. She believes that Yunjin carries Eastern philosophy and aesthetic spirit. Only by preserving the foundation while innovating can this thousand-year imperial craft break through boundaries, continue to radiate vitality in contemporary life, and move toward a broader stage.
